Who has seen Lady Gaga's Alejandro?
There are a million things just plain WRONG with that video. Not just with what is going on in the video but what it is trying to imply.
I'm not going to waste my time on this issue as it's not worth my time. I would like to know what you think of it and what you think the meaning of the video is though. So please leave a comment and let me know!

oh man I was so looking forward to watching it...It hasn't been debuted in the US yet, so I haven't seen it. I know Gaga is pretty racy in EVERYTHING she does, so I can only imagine the video ticked off/ maybe even offended some peeps...

I love Lady Gaga, her songs and her videos. She reminds me a lot of Madonna [whom I also love] I don't bother looking for meanings of the video, I just enjoy the choreography and the costumes.

ReplyDeleteI just really hope there was no attempt at pointing out that people from Latin America are unwelcome in the US - you know, when she sings "just smoke one cigarette and hush"...

ReplyDelete@ Pixie Dust - I'm not sure what she meant by that line. Her lyrics never make sense lol. I just didn't like the disrespect she showed by having crucifixes upside down and having a crucifix on her crotch. Even notice how the men were pushing her around when she was fully clothed and only accepted her when she took her clothes off. There are a lot more elements that I could write an essay but I don't think it's worth it.
I understand that she may be trying to illustrate problems gay men may be going through but that video seems to be causing more offense than bringing people together.

I just spent all day pretty much researching all of the hidden meanings in not only this video but countless others. It's crazy all of the view points! Some conspiracy theorists believe she is a part of the illuminati - she does use a lot of symbolism in her photo shoots too .. I think she just wants to get a rise out of people, because she knows it sells. But perhaps she has gone too far by so openly mixing crucifixes with sex ... I was slightly offended also when she was dressed as a nun and stuff ...
ReplyDeleteI was mostly just confused by the video. Her videos are always so long but it's usually a tad more stimulating. With this one by minute 37 I was getting annoyed but the lyrics being repeated over and over and over (I don't think it's that good of a song to start with) and put off by the girly men.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to the songs with Just Dance and Love Game? When she was still weird but sort of testing us all and not going all out. Way better.
UGH. it was just bizarre and not even very interesting! I love the song - so catchy! - but the video is almost dull and monotonous, with the neo-nazi guys or whoever, and Gaga with those awful eyebrows... they totally contrast her natural browridge and it just looks awful! and the "dance moves" are seriously disturbing at times.

It is on MTV as I was reading your post - I keep focusing on her make-up - she looks amazing with the natural look. The nun look is not working for her, though
