    ah lady, this made me giggle indeed ~ they're actually used by dancers to save the skin on the bottom of their feet while they're dancing (mostly contemporary dancers) ~ I do the PR for Scottish Ballet in my 'grown up job world' and I've seen loads of these wee things kicking around ... although admittedly not in such a fetching pattern! ;)
