Bye bye weekend :(

Hi guys. I hope everyone had a nice weekend.

After my shopping trip on Friday, I decided to spend my Saturday recovering and then go shopping on Sunday, which is normally my lazy day.

First stop was Zara, where I picked up a few things on sale. So if you have a Zara nearby, then I recommend checking out what little is left from their January Sale at rock bottom prices.

I was also happy to know that after I missed out on the trenchcoats they had in the autumn and winter, they now have some even more beautiful ones for this season! In comparison to last season's trenchcoat, these have a smoother waterproof-like texture. There are maybe two or three different ones and I didn't have the time to compare but I am definitely getting one very soon as it is a classic piece and very very elegant. I am not going to miss out on this one!

Here is one of the trenchcoats they have...

Second stop was H&M. I bought a lovely high waisted skirt in Navy blue. I find classic pieces, such as the high waisted skirt, especially in this colour, a very good investment for any wardrobe as it never goes out of style. It is even more of an investment when it's £9.99! This would look good with a cute frilly or pussy bow blouse and platform heels. I'm not sure if they had it in any other colours but I did find a white one on their website.

Accessorize also has a little sale one. Some of their winter accessories are 70% off! I'm not expecting Spring to start anytime soon over here so get down to Accessorize for some cute fingerless gloves with mitten flaps.

I didn't have enough time to do anymore shopping since it was a Sunday and the shops shut early :( Well there's always next weekend.

So how was everyone's weekend? Any plans for next weekend?

My weekend

The weekend!

That is one thing that puts a super big :) on my face.
I started this weekend with a meal at Frankie and Benny's - one of my faves - and washed it down with a dose of shopping...

Starter:
For the starter, I ordered the Mushroom Alfredo Crostini, which is described as 'Fresh garlic mushrooms tossed in our rich cheese sauce, served over toasted garlic ciabatta bread.'

Verdict:
I don't know what they put in that cheese sauce but it tastes heavenly. Totally recommend!

Rating:
9/10

Main:
For the main course, I ordered the Classic Hamburger. The 6oz* prime Irish beef burger is topped with lettuce, tomato, red onion, dill pickle, mayonnaise, and served with a generous helping of house fries. There is the option of adding cheese and I can't say 'no' to cheese! The waitress kindly asked if I would like any sauce, which she quickly brought in a tiny cup.

Verdict:
Yummy! Best burger ever. Unlike fast food burgers, you can actually taste the meaty burger which is super thick. However, as much as I liked it, I'm not a big fan of burgers and fries and only finished off the fries because I don't like food going to waste. If you love burgers and fries then you will love love love this.

Rating:
7/10

Dessert:
My favourite part of any meal is dessert time! Unless the meal itself is just a dessert! I ordered the Cinnamon Waffle Crunch which is described as 'A warm cinnamon waffle topped with scoops of vanilla ice cream, toffee crunch pieces and finished with toffee sauce'. Can't put it any better myself.

Verdict:
Tasted as gorgeous as it's described. I just wished that I wasn't so full as I would have enjoyed it even more. However, the waffle was soft and I prefer mine with a little crunch.

Rating:
9/10

Service:
As with any restaurant, there was an adequate waiting time between ordering and receiving my food. However, ordering a drink refill wasn't so easy as the waiting staff were either nowhere to be found or busy serving other customers. They even forgot to refill after requesting them to so I had to ask another waiter. However, their staff are really lovely and hospitable so none of this mattered. After all, it was a little busy at the time.

Rating:
8/10

Atmosphere:
One of the things that distinguishes Frankie and Benny's from the many restaurants out there is its atmosphere. The interior is set out like an old fashioned fifties Italian restaurant with wooden and leather-style furniture. The lighting is warm and the old fashioned music, such as Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley takes you back to the elegance of the fifties.

Rating:
9/10

Overall verdict:
I've been to Frankie and Benny's a few times before so I'm not surprised at all by this visit. I totally recommend it. Find your local store here and please let me know how it goes.

Overall rating:
8.4/10

Time for some exercise...

After all that scrummy yummy food, I needed to do a workout, which for me involves walking from store to store whilst carrying heavy bags.

I noticed Miss Selfridge's new Alice in Wonderland vests, which came out at the local store today. They're cute but not something I would personally wear. If it's 'you' then visit your local Miss Selfridge store or visit their website now now now before they're all gone!

I did find some really sexy heels though. They are nude (with a hint of grey; can't quite work out the exact colour) peep toe heels. I really love them and they are a dream to walk in. Hot or what?
I then went to H&M to look for a navy blue and white pussy bow blouse that I wanted but as you know, H and M's clothes are always all over the place instead of organised in some way. After giving up, I took a white and orange one instead. It is a size too big but a pair of high waisted trousers or a high waisted skirt can give it all the tucking it needs for the ultimate 1940's chic look.

I don't have much planned for the rest of the weekend. Maybe some more shopping as usual. If I find anything cool, I'll sure let you guys know.

How about you? Any plans?

Have a good one!

Hey guys!

"You only live once, so live it in style"

Hey guys! Welcome to my blog. Here I'll be writing about life and style.
A little adjustment here and a little sparkle there is sometimes all you need to makeover anything from an outfit to your exercise regime. But sometimes it doesn't seem so easy so I will be giving recommendations on what puts a big :) on my face. And maybe it will put an even bigger :) on yours. If so, please let me know! Can't wait to hear from you guys.

With love
